Armenian-Americans Demand Justice on 100+1 anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, Rally for Justice to Draw Over 25,000 Participants

WHAT: A community-wide rally to mark the 100+1 anniversary of the Armenian Genocide by the Ottoman Turkish government, commemorating the 1.5 million victims and demanding recognition and just resolution to this crime by the government of Turkey.

As this massive event will draw Armenian Americans and human rights activities from all over California, the Armenian Genocide Committee will provide numerous media opportunities for press on April 24th with official spokespeople and activists (on and off site).

Over 1.5 million Armenians and other Christian minorities were murdered in the first genocide of the 20th century by the hands of the Ottoman Turkish government. Today’s Turkish government continues a policy of denial that that extends overseas as a gag rule on America’s foreign policy. The Rally for Justice will call attention to this crime against humanity; provide a concrete list of demands from Turkey, and push for proposed legislation with U.S. law makers.

WHO: Prominent leaders in the Armenian American Community Local, State, and Federal representatives- Representative Adam Schiff and Congressman Tony Cardenas will speak.
